White Horse Summer Rugby Camp Session 2: August 5-9
White Horse Youth Summer Rugby camp is a non-contact camp designed to teach the basic fundamentals of rugby and promote physical activity. The camp will be conducted by members of the local White Horse Rugby Club coaching staff and members of the adult and youth teams. Our first goal is to have some safe FUN and build a love of the game.
Skill Development: Campers receive instruction on various rugby skills such as passing, catching, running, (FORM-FOCUSED) tackling, offensive structure, defensive strategy and play phases. Coaches may break down these skills into drills and exercises to help campers improve their technique.
Position-Specific Training: Campers will have the opportunity to focus on specific positions such as scrumhalf, prop, hook, etc. Coaches tailor instruction to the needs of each position, teaching specialized skills and techniques.
Teamwork and Strategy: Rugby is a team sport, so we will emphasize the importance of teamwork, communication, and cooperation. Campers will participate in team-building activities and learn basic offensive and defensive strategies.
Gameplay and Scrimmages: Campers will have the chance to put their skills to the test in simulated game situations. This might involve scrimmages against other campers or controlled game scenarios to apply what they've learned.
What To Bring:
T-shirt, shorts, mouth guard, cleats or appropriate tennis shoes, camping chair, water bottle, and a snack.
Time:
Camp runs from 1pm-5pm, Monday through Friday the week of July 29th. There will be a 30 minute window before and after camp for folks to drop off/pick up. If your child is not picked up within the 30 minute window there will be a fine of $1 for each minute after 5:30pm. Your child may not return to camp the next day until the fine is paid. If your child is coming to us from another camp located at the Phoenixville recreation center we will be sure to collect them from the morning camp.
